10 Mile Hike

We finally had some beautiful fall weather, and we celebrated by going on a 10 mile hike on the Lone Star trail.  This was the longest hike that Brady had attempted and he did amazing!  He had such a good attitude, made wonderful conversation (really, he's so sweet and funny and we had some great chats), and endured through those last couple of miles when he was really exhausted. He said that he liked the hike and wants to go on more long hikes and even try backpacking.

Zoo Field Trip

It's always a good time when we visit the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin.  But this trip was especially great because we went with our homeschool group and were able to participate in some educational programs hosted by the zoo.  Brady's class was awesome!  It was called "Feeding Lab" and they learned about what, why, and how the zoo feeds the many animals in it's care.  Then they were had the opportunity to feed some of the animals (alligators, lemurs, and the hippo).

Dallas Cowboys Game!

Dawson & I had a VERY special day together.  We went to the Cowboys vs. Dolphins game at AT&T Stadium.  It was an incredible experience, watching the game in that spectacular stadium amidst so many other Cowboys fans.

Brady's 11th Birthday!

After driving back from Great Wolf Lodge, we celebrated Brady's 11th birthday with cookie cake and presents.

Great Wolf Lodge

We celebrated Brady's birthday with a trip to Great Wolf Lodge!  Brady's favorite thing was the water playground thing, but he also enjoyed the wave pool, and the many water slides.  He did not care for the magic quest, which surprised me.  But he did like the other special birthday treats he got while he was there.

The water park was not conducive to picture-taking so I didn't get any pictures from all of the water park fun, and only have these few going-around-the-hotel-posing-for-pictures pictures:

And these in the hotel room when we celebrated the big B-Day:

Cowboys Camp

For the 2nd year, the boys and I went to The Star to watch Cowboys Training Camp.  This year, we doubled our fun by going 2 days in a row.  It's a dream come true for Dawson, pretty fun for me, and Brady just tolerates it.  ;-)  Still, we made some good memories, were able to watch the Cowboys practice up-close, got a few autographs, and even had some of the player's gloves tossed to us.
