Bob & Larry Shirts

Kaelin and Dawson sporting Bob and Larry shirts. Dawson was very excited to borrow Kaelin's shirt when the shirt he was wearing while at her house got soaked in the sprinklers.

Looking adorable in the Larry shirt.

Wearing Veggie Tales shirts as they watch a Veggie Tales movie.

Dawson's Funny Sayings

Dawson is always saying things that make us laugh. He frequently speaks like a much older child, which makes it all the more funny. Here are a few things he's said recently:

  • When we're at a restaurant or other public place with lots of other people and they are talking and being a little loud, Dawson will say, "Shhhh, you need to calm down."
  • The other day he was asking Randy something and he actually said, "Seriously, Dad."
  • When he instructs us to do something and we don't respond right away or are unwilling to comply with him, he'll say, "I already told you several times, Mom/Dad."

  • The other day we were following a friend somewhere and when Dawson spotted their car far ahead of ours he told me, "They're going allegro. We're going adagio. Go allegro, Mom."

Water Slide

We had a play group at a friend's house today and they had a big blow-up water slide, which Dawson loved. He spent most of his time going down the water slide and enjoyed every minute. His enthusiasm and excitement were great!

One of his first trips down the slide.

He loved how fast he went down the slide.

Going down the slide with Hutton.

He also really liked going head first on his stomach.

Playing with the sprinkler at the top of the slide.

Soaked and happy from all that sliding.

Incredible Golf

Another great attraction at Incredible Pizza is the miniature golf course. Dawson had a fun time hitting the ball through the obstacles and into the holes.

Putting the ball into the hole.

Concentrating very hard on hitting the ball.

Watching as Dad putts the ball.

Incredible Bowling

Dawson has always enjoyed the bowling alley at Incredible Pizza. They have a big bowling alley, as well as a smaller version for kids - the lanes are shorter, there are bumper guards, and the bowling balls are small. Instead of paying for a round of bowling, Dawson usually just rolls a few balls down the lanes. But this time we let him play a real game of bowling. He did an excellent job rolling the balls down the lane. He even insisted on showing us how to roll the ball. And as usual, he was great at sharing and taking turns, and was sure that Randy and I had an equal opportunity to knock down some pins. And whenever he did knock down a few pins, he would yell, "strike."

Getting his ball in position to roll it down the lane.

A great, powerful roll of the ball.

Incredible Pizza

We had a play group at Incredible Pizza this week, and as usual, Dawson had a great time playing all the games.

Very serious as he concentrates on pushing the buttons on the airplane to make it turn and go up and down.

Whacking the moles!

Smiling as he goes around on the carousel.

Laughing at something silly that Dad is doing.

Playing a game of air hockey. He's so sweet when he plays. He wants both of us to win so if he scores, he immediately wants me to score as well so he'll hold his paddle up so that I'll have an easy shot. And he's as excited when I score as he is when he scores.

Hiccups

By far the most amazing aspect of pregnancy is feeling a little baby move around inside of me. It amazed me when I was pregnant with Dawson and I still find it incredible when Brady moves. Now that I am almost 9 months pregnant I can feel Brady's every movement. He's very active and seems very long. He's particularly fond of pushing his feet into my ribs, which is not pleasant at all, but I feel sorry for him being so scrunched up in there. There are also times when he pushes a foot or knee into my side and you can visibly the large protrusion which is his foot/knee. Oh, and one of the neatest things is feeling him hiccup. He frequently has the hiccups and it's such a neat sensation. Randy thinks it's a little creepy, but Dawson loves it. He likes to put his hand on my stomach and feel Brady kick or hiccup. Then he'll pull his hand away real quick, smile and laugh, and report, "Brady kicked me" or "Brady hiccuped on me." :-)

Golfing

This morning, Dawson practiced his golfing both at home and on our neighborhood golf course. Maybe he'll be a golfer one day and we'll finally get some use out of our ridiculously high maintenance fees. Either way, he sure was cute golfing today!

Putting with his right hand.

Now with his left.

Walking on the golf course, looking for a flag so he can try to hit his ball into the hole. He wanted to bring his bear along in the stroller.

Putting on the golf course.

Rearing back to hit the ball really far.

Brady's Room

Brady's room is officially ready and waiting for him. He'll be using the same furniture and bedding as Dawson did when he was a baby, and he'll also benefit from all of Dawson's previous baby toys. We had to purchase very few baby items, which was great! Now we're just looking forward to bringing him home to his new room in a few weeks! :-)

Market Street Fountains

After playing at the park we took Dawson to the Market Street fountains to cool off. He had a great time running around, chasing the water as it popped up, and getting completely soaked.

Woodlands Park

Dawson and I visited our favorite park in The Woodlands this week for some hot summer fun.

He's so happy to be at the park.

Climbing the rock wall to get to the top of the playground.

Peeking through a hole.

He really enjoyed this game - tossing the ball back and forth through the holes.

Birthday Flowers

Dawson admiring the birthday flowers my grandmother had delivered.

The silly face he made when I told him to say cheese.

Smelling the flowers.

Having bear smell the flowers. Notice his face as he takes a big sniff for bear. :-)

Tree Hugger

Dawson, the little tree hugger.

Sidewalk Chalk

Dawson told me he was making "beautiful artwork" as he scribbled on the road.

Exploring Target.

Target didn't have what he needed so he went to Wal-Mart. :-)

Naming and hopping on all the shapes.

Going slow on the straight line.

Going super fast on the zig-zag line. We also had a curvy line that he enjoyed running along really fast.
