Baby Fox

We saw a couple of foxes in our backyard the other day.  And then we spotted this little guy (girl?) right outside our window.  It's an little baby fox!!  So cute!

It's sad that he's sick.  But there's also something precious about him all cuddled up asleep on the couch.

Dinosaur Valley State Park

We've wanted to go to Dinosaur Valley State Park for a long time and finally made it up there.  Unfortunately, it was after some very heavy flooding so the river was raging and we weren't able to see the dinosaur tracks.  Still, it was a great state park, small and quiet, pretty cedar trees everywhere, lots of wildlife, and some great trails.  We'll have to go back another time to see the tracks and hike on the trails across the river (which we couldn't cross because it was so wild).

How I found the kids when I came back from an early morning run - reading together in bed.  I had to capture the moment.

Taking in the river.  Usually, you can walk down the steps and splash in a little stream.

Instead of the peaceful river, there were river rapids.  It was actually really fascinating.

Cleburne State Park

We spent the second part of our camping trip at nearby Cleburne State Park.  The scenery was similar to Dinosaur Valley SP, but instead of a rushing river, there was a pretty serene lake.  We hiked, biked, fished, climbed trees, relaxed in the hammock, sat around the campsite, did some outdoor cooking, and enjoyed the time together as a family.
